About Hollowtide
Hollowtide is a free, fan-made revival of Asheron's Call, the fantasy online game that closed in 2017. The world of Dereth is back as it was at the end, running on a new game client built from scratch, with new creatures, dungeons, bosses and gear added.
Two ways to play
- In your web browser at hollowtide.org. Nothing to install: name a character and you are in Holtburg. You need a computer with a keyboard and mouse.
- The desktop app for Windows, Mac and Linux, free on itch.io. It is smoother and has the full draw distance. It needs a copy of the original Asheron's Call game files on your computer.
Both play on the same server with the same characters. A browser character can be kept with a password and then played from the desktop app too.
What is in it
- All of Dereth, its towns, dungeons and quests.
- New creatures, dungeons, bosses and gear to find.
- The add-on tools the old community relied on, built in: an automation assistant and map arrows.
- An in-game wiki on F1, and F7 to send a bug report straight to us.
Who makes it
Hollowtide is a small, non-commercial fan project. It is free, with no shop and nothing to buy. The server is built on ACE, the open-source Asheron's Call server emulator, and our server changes are published at github.com/hotdog-face/hollowtide-server.
